Reasons and solutions for twisting and turning of stainless steel plates during stamping processing

Stainless steel plate stamping parts are prone to overturning and distortion during the stamping production of the mold. In order to ensure the size and function requirements of the final product, effective solutions must be adopted. The reason why the material turns over and twists during stamping is that in the progressive die, the remaining material around the stamping part is punched out to generate the shape of the stamping part.

The main reason for the turning and twisting of punched parts is the influence of punching force. During punching, due to the existence of the punching gap, the material is stretched on one side of the die and compressed on the side of the punch. When using the unloading plate, use the unloading plate to compress the material to prevent the material on the die side from warping upward. At this time, the stress condition of the material will change accordingly. As the pressure of the unloading plate increases, the material on the side of the punch is stretched, while the material on the side of the die is compressed.

The flipping of stainless steel plate stamping parts is caused by the stretching of the material on the die surface. Therefore, when punching, pressing and compressing the material is the key to avoid turning and twisting the punched parts. Reasonable mold design to prevent turning and twisting of stainless steel plate stamping parts. In the progressive die, the arrangement of the blanking sequence may affect the accuracy of stamping parts forming. For the blanking of small parts of stainless steel plate stamping parts, the punching blanks with a larger area are usually arranged first, and then the punching blanks with a smaller area are arranged, thereby reducing the impact of the punching force on the forming of the stainless steel plate stamping parts.

In this way, the unloading plate moves smoothly during stamping, and the material will be compacted. In the key forming parts, the unloading plate must be made into a block structure, so as to facilitate the wear and tear on the pressing part of the unloading plate caused by long-term stamping, which makes it impossible to compress the material.

In addition, it is necessary to add a strong pressing function, that is, to thicken the pressing part of the discharge insert, thereby increasing the pressure on the material on the die side, so as to suppress the turning and distortion of the stamping parts during punching. The end of the punch cutting edge is beveled or arc-shaped. This is an effective way to reduce the punching force.

Reduce the punching force, that is, reduce the tensile force on the material on the die side, which can effectively suppress the probability of the stamping parts turning over and twisting. In daily mold production, attention should be paid to maintaining the sharpness of the cutting edges of the punching convex and concave molds. When the punching edge wears, the tensile stress on the material will increase, which will increase the probability of the stainless steel plate stamping parts turning over and twisting.

In addition, unreasonable punching gaps or uneven gaps are also the reasons for turning and twisting stainless steel plate stamping parts. This aspect also requires good response work.
