Solution to the problem of coiling creases in the production of 430 stainless steel

430 stainless steel, also called 1Cr17 stainless steel, is a ferritic stainless steel with very good corrosion resistance and thermal conductivity. The most common uses of 430 stainless steel are in building decoration materials, household appliances and consumables, etc. It can be used in many fields.

However, various problems will always be encountered during the production of stainless steel. For example, 430 stainless steel will inevitably have coiling creases during production. This is mainly because the material of 430 stainless steel is soft and has good ductility. When coiling in the subsequent cold rolling production unit, due to the insufficient accuracy of the roll shape or the slight upward warping of the head of the strip itself, lateral folds will be formed. Traces come out.

There are three main methods to control the coiling creases of 430 stainless steel during smoothing.

The first method is to put a steel sleeve on the outside of the drum before coiling the stainless steel strip, and wrap the strip around the sleeve during coiling. The advantage of this is that a steel sleeve with good shape accuracy is used to replace the reel of the coiler itself. When unloading the coil, the steel sleeve is unloaded together with the stainless steel coil. However, there are also disadvantages to using steel sleeves. For example, a large number of steel sleeves are needed for turnover, which will increase production costs, and transportation and storage of steel sleeves are more troublesome.

The second method is to put corrugated paper or wool felt between the head of the stainless steel strip and the reel when the stainless steel strip is being threaded to buffer the subsequent folding of the strip caused by the upturned head of the stainless steel strip. Trace marks. According to the actual situation, you can also use the method of padding a 3m long wool felt for thick materials; use the method of padding a 3m long corrugated paper for thin materials. These are the most cost-effective and effective methods.

The third method is to make a rubber sleeve and replace the steel sleeve in the first method with a rubber sleeve. Since the head of the stainless steel strip falls into the groove of the rubber sleeve during coiling, the rubber sleeve can not only ensure the roundness during coiling, but also buffer the upturned head of the stainless steel strip to the subsequent stainless steel strip. the impact caused.

Each of these three methods has its own advantages, but the most applicable method is undoubtedly the third method. However, in actual production, you still have to decide which method is better based on your own circumstances.
