Stainless steel rods used in electronics

Shadow mask for color picture tube

Color televisions used ordinary steel or non-expanded steel a long time ago. Small televisions generally use ordinary steel shadow masks. Large TV sets over 28 inches use stainless steel alloy shadow masks made of stainless steel rods. On the other hand, picture tubes used in computers and industrial monitors use non-expansion alloy shadow masks in order to see still images or text. Inflatable steel is not stainless steel (that is, not stainless steel) because Cr is not added. Because it is a high-Ni material, it is usually made in a stainless steel production plant.

As a special steel close to stainless steel, it adds nickel to iron. The nickel content of 36% has a very small expansion coefficient, which reflects its unique characteristics. Its expansion coefficient is 1.2*10^-6. It can be seen that this alloy has the advantage of not being prone to thermal expansion and contraction.

Metal mask printing plate

The so-called metal mask printing plate is a printing plate mounted on a printing base plate and made of paste solder. It is manufactured using extremely thin stainless steel or stainless steel foil (thickness 0.03-0.2mm), using erosion relief method or laser processing. It is different from the color picture tube shadow mask because it is not affected by thermal expansion, etc., so stainless steel is used to represent the steel type SUS304.

Representative model sizes of metal mask printing plates are 320mm*320mm, 400mm*400mm, 400mm*500mm and 550mm*650mm, etc. In terms of quality requirements, strict standards are stipulated in terms of thickness accuracy and shape of free-cut stainless steel plates. Because extremely thin stainless steel or stainless steel foil is used, the finished product width is less than 600mm. Therefore, stainless steel foil manufacturing plants are more conducive to production than stainless steel production plants, so they mainly produce the former.
