Stainless steel square tube weight calculation

Introduction to the weight calculation of Stainless Steel square tubes

A stainless steel square tube is a hollow square steel with four sides of the same length. Square tube is very common in our daily life. It is widely used in house construction, shed construction, boiler construction, highway railings, house construction, pressure vessels, oil storage tanks, bridges, power station equipment, etc. It also occupies a large position in the steel processing industry. So how is the weight of the square tube calculated?

The formula for calculating the weight of the square tube theory

(b-t)×4×ρ×t×C/1000000=kg
Explanation of the formula for calculating the weight of the square tube theory
b: Side length of the square tube (unit: mm)
t: The wall thickness of the square tube, also known as the thickness of the steel plate (unit: mm)
ρ: Density of steel (the density of ordinary steel and manganese plate is generally 7.85, please refer to the material density table for stainless steel or other materials, and pay attention to the distinction here!)
C: The height of the square tube/or the length of the square tube (unit: mm), the weight of the general square tube is calculated in 1 meter as a unit
Note: The units of length, width and height are all in millimeters, in order to unify the unit, so it is not easy to make mistakes in the calculation, so at the end you need to divide by 1000000, so that the weight unit obtained is kilograms.

[Question] Now I want to buy ten square pipes (note: the standard length of one is 6 meters in general), the side width is 50mm, and the thickness is 2.5mm. How many kilograms is the weight?
 【Answer】
 The weight of a stainless steel square tube: (50-2.5) × 4 × 2.5 × 7.85 × 6000/1000000 ≈ 22.37kg
Weight of ten square tubes: 22.37×10 = 223.7kg
 【result】
The weight of ten square tubes is 223.7kg.
