The difference between 304 stainless steel seamless pipe and seamless pipe

Firstly, concentricity is different. The manufacturing process of seamless pipes is to punch holes formed by stainless steel billets at temperatures below 2200 degrees. Under this high-temperature effect, tool steel will become soft and spiral out of the hole. The wall thickness of this type of pipeline is simple and uneven, and the degree of partial pain is relatively high. The seam tube is made of precision cold rolled sheet. The wall thickness difference of these cold rolled sheets is generally around 0.002 inches, so the wall thickness difference is very small, and the wall thickness of the entire pipeline is very uniform.

The difference between 304 stainless steel seamless pipe and seamless pipe also includes welding performance. Generally speaking, the chemical composition of slotted and seamless pipes is different. The steel composition for producing seamless pipes just meets the basic requirements, while welded pipes contain chemical components suitable for welding, such as silicon, sulfur, manganese, oxygen, and triangular ferrite. If these elements are missing, simple welding firmness will be formed during the welding process.

The size of metal particles is related to the temperature of heat treatment and the time it takes to maintain the same temperature. The particle size of the annealed and seamless pipes is the same. If the minimum cold treated seam tube is selected, the particle size after welding and the particle size of the welding metal will be much smaller, otherwise the size will be the same.
The difference between seamless stainless steel pipes and seamless pipes also includes corrosion resistance. The corrosion resistance also depends on the composition of the alloy. Seamless pipes with the same chemical composition and heat treated seamless pipes have the same corrosion resistance. The welded components of welded steel pipes without complete heat treatment will simply corrode.

The prices of the two are also different. Generally, the price of seamless steel pipes is less than half that of seamless steel pipes, and the price is still very cheap.

In fact, if the two are combined for comparison, welded steel pipes have more and more advantages compared to seamless steel pipes. Due to the fact that the welded steel pipe has passed a series of inspections and is made of cold rolled sheet, all shortcomings are limited to the welding site. Seamless steel pipes are formed by stamping stainless steel billets, thus causing wall tearing during the kneading process. In addition, through testing, in most cases, the pass rate of defective products for welded steel pipes will be lower than that for seamless steel pipes. In addition, under ultrasonic testing, it can be found that the background noise of seamless steel pipes is relatively high, making it difficult to detect defects, while for seamless steel pipes, the opposite is true.
