202 Stainless Steel Strip UNS: S20200/ASTM: ASTM 202/JIS: SUS202
strip
Standards: UNS S20200 / ASTM A240 / JIS SUS202
202 Stainless Steel Strip is a chromium-nickel-manganese austenitic stainless steel, known for being a cost-effective alternative to the 300 series. It offers a unique combination of good formability, corrosion resistance, and strength. This material is particularly well-suited for applications requiring high durability and toughness at a competitive price point.
Common applications include kitchenware (cookware, sinks), automotive trim, hose clamps, architectural applications (such as window and door components), and various industrial equipment. Its excellent performance in a variety of environments makes it a versatile choice for many manufacturing needs.
We are committed to providing top-quality 202 Stainless Steel Strips that meet rigorous international standards. We support full customization of dimensions, including thickness, width, and surface finish, to perfectly match your project's specific requirements.

The primary difference lies in their composition and cost. Type 202 stainless steel replaces some of the expensive nickel (Ni) content with manganese (Mn) and nitrogen (N). This makes it more economical than 304. While 304 offers superior corrosion resistance, especially in chloride environments, 202 provides good toughness and strength, making it an excellent, cost-effective choice for less corrosive applications.
In its annealed (softened) state, 202 stainless steel is non-magnetic, like other austenitic stainless steels. However, it can become slightly magnetic after cold working (e.g., bending, forming, or drawing), which alters its microstructure.
We offer a wide range of surface finishes to suit your application's aesthetic and functional needs. Standard finishes include 2B (a smooth, moderately reflective cold-rolled finish), BA (Bright Annealed), and No. 4 (brushed finish). We also provide specialized finishes like HL (Hairline) and 8K (Mirror) for decorative purposes. Please contact our sales team to discuss your specific requirements.
